Who is responsible for VAT remittances to the UK authorities?

eWale Live Support

Last Update 3 years ago

It is the Seller's responsibility to determine when her products (goods and services) are tax exempt or not, and to add or charge the appropriate rates (Standard 20%, Reduced 5% or Zero rate) during product listings.

eWale will only collect, display (on the Seller wallet) all VAT collected on eligible sales, and subsequently disburse it as part of the withdrawable balance to the Seller bank account. Sellers are therefore expected to return the collected VAT to the UK authorities directly. For more information on how to do this, check https://www.gov.uk/charge-reclaim-record-vat
